LPI: What schools have shown the most interest in you and do you have any visits coming up?

NC: Currently the schools that have shown the most interest are Western Michigan, Iowa State, Columbia, Yale, Illinois State, and Cornell. Other schools that have shown interest are Northern Illinois, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Rice, Western Illinois, North Dakota, South Dakota State, Holy Cross, Bucknell, Minnesota State and Drake. It has been difficult to attend football junior days and practice invites due to my high school baseball schedule. Most of my upcoming visits will take place this summer when I go to football camps and showcases.

LPI: Who do you model your game after and why?

NC: I model my game after Eddie Jackson from the Chicago Bears. He has a high football IQ and I like the way he competes.

LPI: Do you play any other sports in the offseason or do you play 7on7?

NC: I play basketball and baseball for Oswego East. I also play travel baseball for White Sox Elite. I don’t play 7 on 7 for any organization because of my year-round commitment to other sports, but I look forward to playing 7 on 7 during the summer with my high school team.

LPI: Not counting any teammates, who is the best player that you have gone against in your high school career?

NC: I would say the best player that I went against was Marcellus Moore from Plainfield North High School because of his speed. But I had one of my best games of the season against his team with multiple tackles and one interception. I like the challenge of facing players with that level of talent.

LPI: At what point did you realize you had what it takes to play college ball?

NC: Since I started playing football, I always wanted to play at the college level. When I was moved up as a sophomore to play on varsity, I never felt out of place and my confidence for the game really grew. From that point on, I focused on my game so that I could prepare for bigger challenges.

LPI: What do you want your major to be in college?

NC: I know there are a lot of different majors offered so I have not settled on one just yet. I have always liked studying US History, US Government/Politics and English.

LPI: Who on your team has what it takes to play college ball, but are currently being under recruited?

NC: I believe that Alex Wollschlaeger, Keion Battle, and Sam Wilson can play at the next level. Alex has put in a lot of hard work this off season to get himself ready for next season. Sam makes the most of every opportunity any coach gives him. Keion has consistently been one of our strongest offensive weapons.
