LPI: What schools have shown serious interest in you and who do you think may be close to offering?

AW: I have one offer from Bowling Green State University. I have been speaking with coaches from Harvard on a regular basis since January and both Western Michigan and South Dakota State University have expressed interest in me when I attended their Junior Days and Spring Practices. Western Michigan and SDSU have stated they will be coming back to Oswego East during the NCAA evaluation period.

LPI: What have you been doing to take your game to the next level this offseason?

AW: This offseason I have worked very hard to increase my strength and size. I have been working out before school with my team as well as after school with a personal trainer. In addition to strength training I have been working on speed and agility with Acceleration in Naperville.

LPI: Who do you model your game after and why?

AW: Being a Bears fan it is hard not to model my on-field aggressiveness after lineman like Charles Leno Jr. and Akiem Hicks. I also really admire J.J. Watt because Watt’s athleticism shows up in every play. I also really admire the charitable work that Watt does off the field.

LPI: Do you play any other sports in the offseason or do you play 7on7?

AW: My first two years I was a three-sport athlete playing basketball when the football season ended and then throwing discus and shot in track. As a junior I decided to focus on football. This focus has paid off as I have added almost 40 pounds this offseason through my strength and conditioning work.

LPI: What do you want to study in college and what do you want to do after your football career is over?

AW: I am still undecided about what exactly I would like to major in. At the moment, my academic interests are split between an area of science like biology or engineering and business. I have thought about bringing these interests together, but I haven’t really narrowed anything down yet. As for when football is over, my goal is to simply pursue a career that I am passionate about.

LPI: Who on your team has what it takes to play college ball, but are currently being under recruited?

AW:

Nathaniel Campbell – SS ‘20 In my opinion is a D1 athlete that has the ability to play at the next level and will do great things. He is a hard worker on and off the field with a great attitude.

Keion Battle – WR ’20 Is also someone who I believe has what it takes to play at the next level. He is a great player who has a lot of skills and potential.
