LPI: Who do you model your game after and why?
JD: I model my game to my cousin Niko DelaCruz. He is such a hardworking kid and really good with the football in his hands. Niko taught me how to work hard and to be humble.
LPI: Do you play any other sports in the offseason or do you play 7on7?
JD: I play basketball in the winter.
LPI: What can you bring to the table for a college program on and off the field?
JD: I can bring relentless effort and being a team player. Then, off the field showing great choices and working hard academically.
LPI: What have you been doing to take your game to the next level this offseason?
JD: I have been going to weight room as much as I can to get stronger for the next level and also working on my speed to become more of a cover linebacker in pass coverage.
LPI: What schools have shown interest in you or may be close to offering?
JD: No Schools are showing strong interest at the moment.
LPI: Do you currently have any visit or showcases plans? If so, where at and when?
JD: As of right now, I have no visits or showcases planned. I have visited Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Northwestern.
LPI: Who on your team has what it takes to play college ball, but are currently being under recruited?
JD:
Josh Turner – Josh played saftey for us this year. I believe he can play in the next level because of his will to win. This kid believes he will never lose to anyone and I think that is an amazing attitude for the next level. Josh is an amazing athlete that can make offensive coordinators think about throwing deep balls.
Matt Rich – Matt played center for us this year. Matt has what it takes to play in the next level. The kid is tough, he played through two injures and still played like he had no injury. Also a really competitive kid when it comes to playing football. He plays extremely hard and is one of the hardest workers on the team.
Seamus Mellican – Seamus played defensive end for us this year. Seamus has what it takes to play in the next level because his play making ability is amazing and a really smart kid. Seamus will do his part in order for the team to win. He will bring effort and toughness to any college that offers him.
