LPI: What schools do you currently have offers from?
JW: University of Cincinnati, Purdue, and Kansas State University.
LPI: What schools that haven’t offered are showing the most interest or may be close to offering?
JW: Syracuse, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Boston College, and Rutgers.
LPI: What should college coaches that recruit you know about you whether it be on or off the field?
JW: On the field I work hard and I push myself to pick up my teammates and keep them in the fight no matter the situation. Off the field I’m one of the smartest kids in my school and I want to study Aerospace Engineering. I’m a motivator and a problem solver. I’m dedicated and I refuse to lose.
LPI: Do you play any other sports during the offseason?
JW: No, I usually just lift weights extensively and participate in other training services outside of the high school.
LPI: What are you looking for in a program to continue your football career at?
JW: I’m looking for a coaching staff that genuinely cares about their players and would stick their necks out for them. I don’t care if they’re some huge football powerhouse or some small community college, as long as they treat me like family. I want someone that is going to care about and respect me.
LPI: Do you have a dream school?
JW: I have always wanted to go to Stanford but have not had extensive contact with them.
LPI: Who are some of your teammates or training partners that you believe can play at the next level, but have gone overlooked by college coaches?
JW:
Tahj Young-Howell – The other starting tackle on my team, not the biggest of guys but he is extremely aggressive with great technique and knows what he’s doing.
Jake Lynch – Wide receiver and Quarterback for my team, fast, knows his plays like the back of his hand and can catch ping pong ball in a hurricane.
Brandon White – Played defensive tackle, big, fast, strong as an ox, strikes fear in the heart of any QB.
Robert Mims – Safety, capable of locking down half of the field by himself, can tackle a rhino on steroids.
