LPI: What schools have shown serious interest in you or may be close to offering?
XM: I have been offered by Kent State. I have also recently been in contact with coaches from Michigan State, Cincinnati, Minnesota and Northwestern.
LPI: What is it like having your brother Erik play for Northwestern? How has he affected you as a football player?
XM: My brother has helped me in almost every aspect of football. He’s helped me lift, train, and has taught me techniques and football fundamentals. However, he has affected me more off the field with his faith in Jesus and the way that he works hard in the classroom.
LPI: Do you have any planned visits coming up? If so, where at and when?
XM: I do not have any visits planned at the moment. I went to Northwestern, Notre Dame, and Miami of Ohio this summer for camps.
LPI: What should college coaches that recruit you know about you whether it be on or off the field?
XM: I want college coaches to know that I love football, I am a very hard worker, and I put the team’s success ahead of mine.
LPI: What are your individual and team goals for this upcoming season?
XM: An individual goal of mine is to become a better leader on the field for our defense this year and to learn to read plays better as a linebacker. The goals for our team this season are to focus on winning each game. We want to make the playoffs and hopefully make a deep run.
LPI: Who are some of your teammates or training partners that you believe can play at the next level, but have gone overlooked by college coaches?
XM: Our team is filled with players who could compete at the next level. I believe that every one of our starters could play college football. Here are a few:
Drake Dickinson – A 3 year varsity player who is a great leader and very athletic.
Jake Secrest – Is a great defensive end for us and makes a lot of big plays.
Antowon Tolbert – Also a 3 year varsity player and a fast and strong running back.
Jake Johnson – Is a tall tight end with great hands.
Christian Halstead – A returning starter as a Junior and the toughest receiver I’ve played with.
Trevor Gabriel and Ryan Maloney are two of our most aggressive offensive lineman.
