LPI: What have you been doing this offseason to take your game to the next level? Do you play 7on7 or any other sports?
MK: This Offseason I have turned my focus primarily on speed and lateral movement and strengthening my legs as well as my core. I play 7on7 for Midwest Boom (Black) that way I am constantly perfecting my technique with the best of the Midwest.
LPI: You currently hold offers from Iowa State, Fordham and Indiana State. What other schools have shown serious interest in you?
MK: I’ve recently been in contact with University of Illinois, Purdue, Minnesota, Army West-point, University Of Indiana, and Cincinnati.
LPI: Do you have any planned visits set or have you visited anywhere recently? If so, where at and when?
MK: I have planed visits to University of Illinois Feb 23, Indiana State Feb 26, Purdue Feb 28, Minnesota March 3, Iowa State not sure yet, and the University of Indiana not sure yet.
LPI: You’re an honor roll student. What does it mean to you to be a student athlete?
MK: To me, getting good grades is one of the necessities for me to get to where I want to go. So I just do it. I’ve always gotten good grades so I just stay consistent.
LPI: Who are some of your teammates or training partners that you believe can play at the next level, but have gone overlooked by college coaches?
MK: There’s quite a few.
Rashaan Palmer is our 6’4 WR, our head hunter Malik Lester, the ball hawk safety Keontis Parker, Our slot/KR Dekari Waight, 6’0″ DE Donald Thomas, and 6’2″ DT Kenshay Brown. These guys are all going to make a big impact in the next season.
Rashaan Palmer is a 6’4″ WR with elite speed can catch the ball in traffic and torch his body to catch the ball. Malik Lester a 5’10″ Nickel who never misses a tackle can also play Safety. Keontis Parker a 6’0″ Safety who can hit and snatch the ball out the air. Dekari Waight a sell out WR/KR and a work horse. Kenshay Brown a big DT can block and is quick off the line for his size. Donald Thomas is a 6’0″ DE with long arms is also a work horse who can bench press any lineman in his way.
