Lawrence Central (IN) 2019 DB Trevon Booker just picked up his first 2 FBS offers and updated me on what’s next for his recruiting. I also got coach Justin Sharp’s thoughts on Booker.

LPI: What are your greatest strengths on the field and do you consider yourself a leader?

TB: My greatest strength on the field is I push everybody to their full potential. I make you work harder even when your dead tired to build you up mentally and physically. I also bring fun and games to practice to make the time go by much faster.

LPI: Tell me what you’ve been doing to take your game to the next level. Also, do you play any other sports in the offseason or do you play 7on7.

TB: I play 2 other sports besides football which is wrestling and baseball so it helps me physically and mentally. Wrestling and baseball help me use other parts of my body so I’m not likely to get any serious injuries. This year will be my first year actually playing 7on7 so I’m really trying track to increase my speed.

LPI: You recently picked up your first 2 offers from Miami of Ohio and Bowling Green. What others schools have you been in touch with or may be close to offering?

TB: I’ve been in touch with Ball State,Toledo and just received emails for game visits by a few other MAC schools.

LPI: Where are you planning on visiting soon?

TB: I plan on visiting Louisville and going back to Miami of Ohio to get a better view of the campus.

LPI: Who are some of your teammates or training partners that you think can play at the next level, but have gone overlooked by college coaches?

TB: There are so many I can mention, but the main 4 are Lashon Bright, Kirk Pinkston, Jordan Grimes and Eliseo Caldera.

Lashon Bright is a short receiver but his quick release and his ability to get open in any situation is different than anybody I know. Kirk is another receiver similar to that as well. He has a 3.9 GPA, speed like no other, runs great routes and has the best hands on the team. Jordan is a hard worker, does everything he has to do every rep and doesn’t complain. He has that hard work beats talent mentality. Last, Eliseo is my drill partner for wrestling and he is a outstanding linebacker. He is a natural athlete and always pushes himself to be better and others as well.

Coach’s Corner

Lawrence Central coach Justin Sharp on Booker on and off the field

“Trevon is a great kid and very fun to be around. A fun loving kid and a people person that shows in all aspects. His persona is infectious and he will be one of our captains next year. He’s very versatile and will play wherever you ask him to play. He also plays extremely well against some of the top competition as well.”
