LPI: What schools have been recruiting you or may be close to offering?

JB: Some of the schools I have been talking to most recently are The University of Cincinnati, The University of Toledo, Bowling Green State University, Minnesota State University and Colgate University.

LPI: Do you have any planned visits set? If so, where at and when?

JB: I took two visits last fall to the University of Cincinnati and the University of Toledo. Both schools had incredible campuses and I loved the atmosphere surrounding both of the football programs. I feel it is important to make an effort to go see a campus firsthand, so I am planning on visiting more schools before my senior season kicks off.

LPI: What was it like starting on varsity as a sophomore and how do you think that experience will help you moving forward?

JB: Starting on varsity as a sophomore was a great learning experience. During my sophomore year I was able to adjust to the speed of the game and learn my defensive assignments. When my Junior season came around, the full year of experience allowed me to focus on making plays at full speed. I look forward to taking the coaching and experience from these last two seasons into my senior year.

LPI: Tell me what you’ve been doing to take your game to the next level. Also, do you play any other sports in the offseason?

JB: This offseason I have been focusing on my explosion, speed, flexibility and footwork. Along with lifting, I have been working with Chris Korfist who specializes in one on one speed training. Chris has over 20 years of experience and has consulted NFL teams, Big 10 Universities, Olympic teams and U.S. Special Forces. I also am a part of Montini’s track team during the off season.

LPI: Who are some of your teammates or training partners that you believe can play at the next level, but have gone overlooked by college coaches?

JB: The first person that comes to mind is Nick Fedanzo. He plays running back at Montini. He is very explosive and is a great competitor. During the season we would always go against each other in drills to push ourselves every day. In the off season we lift together and hold each other accountable. He loves football and loves to compete and that is why he could play at the next level.

Coach’s Corner

Montini Head Coach Mike Bukovsky on Bruscianelli on and off the field

“Jackson is a 3 year starter for us at mike linebacker. As an attitude standpoint, he’s as good as they come. He’s a tremendous leader on our team and has outstanding character. As a football player, he’s a true competitor, is very aggressive and plays with an extremely high motor. Jackson is a true sideline to sideline guy that takes great paths to the ball and can read the field very well.”
