Lake Park’s 2019 RB/MLB David Hardwick talked how he elevates his game, when he’s going to take his upcoming visits and I also got head coach Chris Roll’s thoughts on Hardwick.

LPI: Tell me about what you’ve been doing this season to take your game to the next level. Also, do you play any other sports in the offseason?
DH: This season has been big for me mentally to sharpen myself in good practice habits and a lot of film study on my opponents. I’m also involved in wrestling and track.
LPI: Do you have any offers? If not, which schools have shown serious interest in you?
DH: My head coach Chris Roll has been talking to colleges for me, but I’m staying focused on keeping my head in the game and doing what it takes to help my team out in anyway needed.
LPI: Do you have any planned visits set? If so, where at?
DH: Me and my teammates have planned to visit schools after the season ends.
LPI: You excel at both LB and RB. Tell me about how you think playing both positions helps you as a recruit.
DH: I’ve played both position for most of high school, but what really helps me as a Running Back is to think like a Linebacker and the Defense. Finding weak points and places to capitalize which contributes to my success on the field.
LPI: Who are some of your teammates or training partners that you believe can play at the next level, but have gone overlooked by college coaches?
DH: Diamante Smith – He’s gotten some looks, but I believe he has the ability to really do big things.
Coach’s Corner
Lake Park Head Coach Chris Roll on Hardwick on and off the field
“David is a rare combination of power and speed. He is still raw and developing his skills so he has huge upside.”
