LPI: What are you going to do to take your game to the next level this season? Also, do you play any other sports in the off season?

DS: I’m working constantly to Improve my game mentally and physically. All summer I’ve been focusing my attention on my speed and my footwork, both have increased tremendously. The knowledge I’ve gained of the game helps me contribute to my team from multiple positions also.

LPI: Do you have any offers? If not, which schools have shown serious interest in you?

DS: As of right now I hold one offer from Robert Morris University. I’ve also been talking to multiple other schools like South Dakota State University, Minnesota State University of Moorhead, North Central, and Carroll University.

LPI: Do you have any planned visits set?

DS: I have a couple game visits lined up with schools like North Central, Carroll, and Millikin university. I’m also trying to workout a trip to go up to South Dakota State University for a game day visit.

LPI: What skill set can you bring to the table for a college football program?

DS: I can bring great leadership skills to a team. Leadership is very serious to me because I want my teammates to know that i’m there for them both on and off the field. I’m also very coachable, i’m always looking for new ways to take my game to the next level.

LPI: Who are some of your teammates or training partners that you believe can play at the next level, but have gone overlooked by college coaches?

DS:

Joey Mondia – Joey has great skills in both coverage skills and defending the run. Joey is a great leader for the team and that leadership will follow him to college.

Blake Coughlin – Blake is very athletic with great his amazing speed. He was All-Conference in both football and track his junior year. Blake excels at stuffing the run and rushing the passer.

Elijah Hickman – Elijah is dominate on both sides of the ball at both DT and RB. His combination of speed and strength help him get off blocks and get in the backfield consistently. At RB he has great potential to be a goal line back and has the speed to break a few out for big plays.

Ahmed Arain – Ahmed is also a great two-way player for us at DE and WR. He is very disciplined at DE staying with his outside contain forcing the run back in or even shutting it down in the backfield. His big 6’4″ frame helps him out lots at both positions and he can make plays in open space at WR.

“DeMarkus is a special football talent. He’s extremely versatile and coachable. He’s the type of kid who will do everything you ask him to do both on and off the field. In addition to being a tremendous talent, DeMarkus is also a great leader for our defense. Whenever guys are down, DeMarkus is a voice we can always expect to be positive and encouraging. That’s just the type of person he is.”
