A recent transfer to Phillips, 2019 TE Jahleel Billingsley possesses massive upside. We talked Power 5 schools showing interest in him, how he’s prepping for the upcoming season and also got Phillips head coach Troy McAllister’s opinion on him.

Jahleel Billingsley
Wt: 227 lbs
Class: 2019
LPI: What are doing this offseason to get ready for the season and take your game to the next level? Did you play 7on7 this year or were you in any other sports?
JB: This offseason me and my team have been in the weight room because that’s where everything starts, I’ve been just working on my game overall particularly blocking. I actually did play 7v7 for BOOM in the National Tournament at IMG.
LPI: You currently don’t have any offers, but I believe you have what it takes to play at the next level. What skill set can you bring to the table for a college football program?
JB: I can be a good leader on and off of the field. I believe my work ethic is a very strong part of my play. I like to be known as a very versatile TE to where I can put my hand in the dirt and block and also be able to be in the slot. At the end of the day this is the game I love to play and I’m very passionate about it.
LPI: Which schools have shown serious interest in you?
JB: The last schools that have shown the most interest was UNC and University of Arkansas.
LPI: Where have you visited most recently and do you have any planned visits or camps/showcases set?
JB: I have not recently been on any visits and for right now I’m done with camps and showcases. I’m really just focused on the season and Week 1 being the toughest game on our schedule.
LPI: Who are some of your teammates or training partners that you believe can play at the next level, but have gone overlooked by college coaches?
JB:
Craig Elmore RB/LB – He hasn’t really been overlooked he has a couple of offers but the schools that have shown interest are not really big schools. Overall Craig is a leader on and off the field, He’s very coachable, and very hard working, He’s a very talented layer overall, he plays fast and hard all the time. Craig is a very physical running back but he also has some moves to make defenders miss.
Courtney Mables OLB- Courtney is also a leader, Courtney is very hardworking and passionate about the game of football his passion for the game is ridiculous. Courtney is very coachable, he plays fast and he is a very hard hitting linebacker overall Courtney is a outstanding football player.
