LPI: What are you going to do to take your game to the next level this offseason?
AW: We have team workouts after school 4 times a week to get us faster and stronger. Then for the lineman we practice 2 times a week in the morning before we go to school. The morning workouts really help the younger guys get an idea of the offense and for the older guys it helps us not forgot our rules and assignments.
LPI: You hold 1 offer from Central Michigan. What skill set can you bring to the table for a college football program?
AW: I feel my ability to move pretty well on the outside edge and lead block can set me apart from other lineman and also my running blocking ability.
LPI: Besides Central Michigan, which schools have shown serious interest in you?
AW: Penn State and Northwestern are primary schools I have talked too many times so far. I have also talked to Syracuse and Western Michigan a little bit.
LPI: Where have you visited most recently and do you have any planned visits or camps/showcases set?
AW: My most recent visit was Northwestern. I went there with my family to look at the campus. I plan to visit Central Michigan later in the fall.
LPI: Who are some of your teammates or training partners that you believe can play at the next level, but have gone overlooked by college coaches?
AW:
Colton Ruhland – This kid comes first in my mind. The most underrated kid in the area. He is a great leader and is the hardest working kid I have ever seen. Not only is he a hardworking kid, but he is also a smart football player.
Brett Groves – One of the biggest and strongest kids I know. Always brings a great attitude to practice and I love playing with him. He always puts the team before himself.
Max Skol – The explosive kid on the team. Love having him as teammate because he is always helpful and encouraging to his teammates.
Coach’s Corner
Cary Grove Head Coach Brad Seaburg on West on and off the field
“Addison is pretty quiet, but very well-liked by his teammates. He hasn’t had to be much of a leader thus-far at CG because he has always played with older kids; however, he is becoming more vocal this year. He works very hard in the weight room, and he is starting to see that work pay off, as he is developing into a very good football player.”
