LPI: What were the most important things you did this offseason and are now doing in practice so you can improve this season?

BS: One of the most important things I did this summer was stay on the field. Lots of times athletes get caught up with only staying in the weight room and I assured that didn’t happen. My teammates and I would meet up just about anywhere and just run routes, do one on ones, and work on pass drops & pass rushes.

LPI: Where do you currently have offers from? What are your greatest strengths or why should a school offer you?

BS: I currently have a offer from SIU-Carbondale. One of my greatest strengths in my game I believe are breaking down plays and flying to the ball. I read plays really well. I’m also very physical and excel in coverage. I love playing man!

LPI: Offer or not, which schools have you kept in contact with the most?

BS: I’ve been in really good contact with SIUC, Eastern Michigan, SEMO, Tennessee Martin, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, and Western Illinois.

LPI: Where have you visited most recently and do you have any visits coming up?

BS: The most recent schools I’ve visited are SIUC and Iowa. Both visits went really well and felt like home. I plan on visiting SIUC on the 22nd, and SEMO and Tennessee Martin soon.

LPI: What’re your personal goals for the rest of this season?

BS: My personal goal this season is to win state. Not just make it there, but to be one of the only 8 happy schools after Thanksgiving. At this point it’s state championship or bust, and that’s my entire teams mindset.

LPI: You guys are now 8-0 this year and look primed for a deep playoff run. What are you team goals for this year and how are you guys going to achieve them?

BS: To assure we win a State Title we will grind harder than anyone else. My brothers and I will never take plays, games, or days off. We will never underestimate our opponent and will continue to push each other to our limits on a daily basis.

LPI: You guys have quality players in yourself, CJ Coldon, Jaylon Bester, Jordan Goodwin and Edwyn Brown that have been getting recruiting attention. Who are some of your other teammates that you believe have a chance to play at the next level, but may be getting overlooked by college coaches?

BS: We are blessed group of guys to be surrounded by so much talent! I believe my defensive end Christian Wills who already has 2 good offers could definitely play ball anywhere. He’s quick and effective in every aspect of his game. He’s underrated! Another good ball player on our team is Stephon Belt. He’s a head hunter and a great ball player. He excels in coverage and has good ball skills. Last but definitely not least is our QB Trey Mosley. He currently has one offer. He has good footwork and arm strength to make every throw on the field. He can keep plays alive with his feet to go along with his good pocket presence. He is a leader on and off the field.
